Gary D. Brattain

Education
Gary began his career as an apprentice with the Southern California Carpenter’s Union in 1970 and attending San Diego City College as part of a 4-year apprenticeship program. Since then, Gary has completed several years of college course work in Construction Inspections and Development, Efficiency and Public Relations at Coastline College, UC Irvine and UC San Diego.
Professional Certifications
Gary obtained his Class B California Contractor’s License in 1976 (No. 321842), and maintained that license until he incorporated the company in 2008. In 1997 he also obtained his California State Insurance Adjusters License which is currently active and in good standing. He was certified in OSHA / EPA Microbial Abatement Practices in 2001.
Notable Professional Accomplishments from the Past 10 Years
- Gary recently received the 2009 Community Building Award from McGraw Hill Publications for the Yorba Linda Veteran’s Memorials.
- Gary recently received the 2008 Charles Pankow Jr. “Excellence in Residential Concrete” Award from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) for a Hillside Terrace Project in Laguna Hills, CA.
- In 2008, the Yorba Linda Veteran’s Memorial Association commissioned BCSI to be the “Gold Star Contractor” to design and construct the Yorba Linda Veterans Memorial; Gary and Elaine Brattain donated the entire cost of the architectural design services required for the project, more than 50% of the management fees and a significant portion of the construction overhead costs.
- In early 2008, Gary was retained as an expert witness by Burt Senkfor, Esq. and was crucial in helping a small business tenant in Beverly Hills win a $270,000 settlement against a dishonest landlord.
- In 2000, Gary built the 27,000 SF Daystar Industries Building at 285 Gemini Ave in Brea, CA, which was sold in 2007 for the highest price per square foot ever paid for any commercial / industrial building in the City.
- In 2001, Gary designed, deconstructed and re-built a 6,000 SF Tuscan Villa Style Custom Home including boat access on Lake Mission Viejo.
- In 2004, Gary, Zac and two other staff members travelled to Florida to complete insurance adjustments on over 240 commercial property loss locations, totaling over $12.5 Million in less than 100 days.
- In 2008, Gary and another staff member travelled to Houston, TX to complete insurance adjustments on over 100 residential property loss locations.
